7-Day Mongolia Adventure: Sightseeing & Horseback Riding Tour

Ride Free Across the Eternal Blue Sky

Saddle up and step into a world where the land stretches forever, the horses run wild, and life is lived under the endless sky.
This 7-day adventure combines cultural discovery with horseback riding through Mongolia’s most iconic landscapes — from sacred temples to the wild steppes where the last wild horses roam.

Day 1: Welcome to the Land of the Eternal Blue Sky

  • Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s vibrant capital.
  • Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel to freshen up.
  • Stretch your legs with a guided walking tour:
  • Visit the majestic Gandan Monastery, where monks in saffron robes chant ancient prayers.
  • Stroll through Sukhbaatar Square, the city’s beating heart, and admire its grand monuments.
  • Settle in for a welcome dinner featuring Mongolian specialties and a chance to meet your fellow adventurers.

Day 2: Into the Wild – Ride through Terelj National Park

  • After breakfast, leave the city behind and journey 80 km to Terelj National Park, a rolling wonderland of granite cliffs, green valleys, and wildflowers.
  • Meet your local horse guide and the trusty Mongolian horses you’ll ride.
  • Ride out across open fields and along forest trails, stopping to admire the famous Turtle Rock and climb up to the Aryabal Meditation Temple for stunning panoramic views.
  • Stay overnight at a traditional ger (yurt) camp, cozying up by the fire as the stars blaze across the sky.

Real Experience: Mongolian horses are small but strong — just like Mongolians prefer. They're natural-born mountain climbers!

Day 3: Deeper into Terelj – Valley, Forest, and Freedom

  • Spend the full day exploring deeper into Terelj on horseback:
  • Cross meadows bursting with wildflowers.
  • Ride alongside crystal-clear rivers.
  • Feel the peace of ancient forests untouched by time.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch at a breathtaking spot chosen by your guide — maybe by a hidden riverbank or a lonely hilltop.
  • In the evening, return to your cozy ger camp. Share stories, stargaze, or simply relax in the silence of the steppe.

Day 4: Across the Steppe – Journey to Khustai National Park

  • After breakfast, say goodbye to Terelj and begin a scenic journey across wide-open plains toward Khustai National Park.
  • Upon arrival, meet your new team of horses and set out to explore the park’s rugged hills and open grasslands.
  • Look for the rare Przewalski’s horse — Mongolia’s symbol of wild freedom — roaming in small herds.
  • Settle in at your ger camp inside the park, where the sounds of the wild will be your lullaby.

Wildlife Tip: Bring binoculars — you might spot red deer, marmots, or golden eagles, too!

Day 5: Ride with the Wild Ones – Full Day in Khustai

  • Spend a full day riding through the untouched wilderness of Khustai National Park:
  • Follow trails through golden grasslands and hidden valleys.
  • Watch as wild horses graze and gallop freely, just as they have for thousands of years.
  • Learn from your guide about the park’s vital role in conserving these incredible animals.
  • Picnic lunch on the trail, then continue riding deeper into the park’s dramatic landscapes.
  • Return to camp for a hearty dinner and celebrate your journey with a traditional Mongolian toast — airag (fermented mare’s milk), if you dare!

Travel Tip: Przewalski’s horses are shy — stay quiet and respect their space for a truly magical encounter.

Day 6: Back to Ulaanbaatar – City Life and Souvenirs

  • After breakfast, say farewell to the wild steppe and head back to bustling Ulaanbaatar.
  • Check into your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at your leisure:
  • Shop for cashmere sweaters, felt crafts, and traditional jewelry at local markets.
  • Visit a museum or relax at a city café with a cup of strong Mongolian coffee.
  • Farewell dinner featuring live Mongolian music and dance performances — a perfect ending to your epic ride.

Day 7: Departure – Until We Ride Again

  • After breakfast, transfer to the airport with unforgettable memories packed alongside your souvenirs.
  • Depart Mongolia — but leave a piece of your heart behind, forever tied to the endless skies and galloping horses.

Ride Free, Breathe Deep, and Discover Mongolia’s Wild Spirit.
